\nPatmos is an incredibly beautiful island. The hotel we stayed in in the harbor town of Skala was cozy with a tranquil atmosphere, with a beautiful garden, where we stayed undisturbed under large trees. The UNESCO listed town of Choros at the top of the mountain above Skala was quite unique with old beautiful buildings in the narrow, steep streets. In the monastery of John of 1088, people were flooded with peace just by sitting in the monastery courtyard. The monastery itself, located high above the city, was an experience, newly restored, so you could see all the frescoes, some from the 13th century. The Abbey Museum has some of the world’s finest treasures. The monks exuded kindness and joy. The view from the city of Choros was incredibly beautiful. Further down the mountain it was exciting to see the cave where John got his revelation. The yield of the course was far above expectation. Not only instructions on the resolution of ancient trauma, but first and foremost, the guidance to the union with the divine throughout the universe was a miracle.<\/p>\n

It was with great expectations that I went to Patmos and I have to promise that all my expectations were met.
\nIt was a lovely hotel we stayed in, and our work on “A Course in Miracles” was just in the right setting. I experienced several miracles, there were really many things that occurred to me, today I read the course in a whole new way, I understand it another way, I would not have achieved at this time, without our trip to Patmos. It is a very special island that is very serene and beautiful, we were up in the monastery of John, which is a very peaceful place. It was a wonderful trip on the whole.<\/p>\n

It was like going treasure hunting in your mind. Nice and relaxed. A swim in the turquoise with mountain and cliff views was adventurous. Patmos was a gem of an island with many excursion destinations. The course made me feel born again! And with sun, sea water, laughter and play with the lovely group, I can only say; there was peace and no danger!<\/p>\n

It has both been an amazing experience, but it is definitely an advantage to have 2 weeks to fully fall in and achieve the deep inner peace and quiet that the course and the retreat-like circumstances and surroundings facilitate.
\nPernille’s daily guided meditations act as a balm for the soul and promote a deep inner peace and joy. The teaching of “A course in miracles” and the reflections on the individual’s problems and life challenges is very enriching, and I have therefore decided to continue with “A course in miracles” course at the Swan Center in Tisvilde in 2014-2015.
\nThe atmosphere on the island of Patmos is a chapter in itself …. In addition to the beauty, warmth and good food that make one relax and enjoy it, the local people are very friendly and welcoming and you feel like a welcome guest. Local culture is not ruined by tourism – on the contrary, you feel how proud people are of it and how they focus on preserving it. The hotel is simple and cozy and fits perfectly as a framework for the retreat.

It is an absolutely wonderful Spitituel Island, with a lovely peace and quiet. There are beautiful beaches and experiences. It has been a great way to combine holidays, with the study of A Course in Miracles. My understanding has grown significantly and I have returned home with a changed mindset and ability to focus on the positive and joy of life. I have become much more aware of what I am sending out into the world.
